One of the largest
and most advanced companion animal teaching hospitals in the
world, the Matthew J. Ryan Veterinary Hospital of the University
of Pennsylvania sees more than 28,000 patient visits a year,
including more than 12,000 through the Emergency Service. It has
the largest caseload of any university-associated veterinary
teaching hospital.
Friends of the Ryan
Veterinary Hospital at Penn play an important role in ensuring
the highest level of patient care. Thanks, in part, to their
generous support, many medical feats that would have been
considered miracles a decade ago now occur every day at the
veterinary hospital.
Annual gifts through the
Friends program provide a critical source of unrestricted
funds to support the Ryan Veterinary Hospital's basic
operations, funding interns' salaries, minor equipment
purchases, and clinical enhancements. Without the Friends'
support, the veterinary hospital could not maintain its
standard of excellence.
Donors can support the
Ryan Veterinary Hospital through a variety of special
programs:
Great Living Legends
and The Friendship Tree--Create a lasting tribute to
honor your special companion animal while supporting the
School's Junior Faculty Research Fund, which provides funds
for important research of companion animal diseases. With a Great
Living Legends gift, a plaque with the picture of your pet
and your citation will be placed in the waiting area. A
contribution to The Friendship Tree enables the donor
to have a pet's name and a citation on a tag placed on the
tree sculpture in the waiting room.
Pet Memorial Program--Established
in 1982, the Pet Memorial Program has grown from a handful of
veterinarians to a large group of practitioners across the
country who make gifts in memory of clients' pets. The funds
raised enhance teaching and service, which enables the Ryan
Veterinary Hospital to provide the best veterinary care for
its companion animal patients and remain at the forefront of
veterinary education.
Planned Giving Program--Learn
about the benefits of naming the Ryan Veterinary Hospital as a
beneficiary of your will, retirement plan, life insurance
policy, life income gift or other type of planned giving
arrangement by visiting the Planned Giving web
page.
